It is extremely difficult for the software to capture fine details in the roots (imagine trying to capture hair stands). ![]() ![]() So the object was a Maize root system (photo below), not a perfect set of images but the ones I had. I'd love to see dense point cloud prior to meshing and decide what level of smoothing (interpolation and noise reduction) to use. I 'think' it seems to do more smoothing of the mesh surface when creating a mesh. I think Memento does a nicer job of the UV unwrapping with larger UV islands however as there is really no exposed controls for processing the mesh so it is hard to tweak anything in the processing stage. An email when the reconstruction is done will be sent and you can then open the model via the Dashbaord.Īs to the comparision with Agisoft, yes, please share your experience but know that photo to mesh is just one type of reconstruction that Memento does (it supports structured light to mesh and very soon laser scan to mesh as well) and the tools at the tail end, 3d printing, publishing and soon to come interactive reality ( which was prototyped in the Smithsonian X 3d expplorer ) are all Memento. Waiting in queue is a message that will be displayed while the mesh is being processed. We understand that there are use cases for which full desktop solution might be desired but for the moment, we dont offer that It also allows users to queue up a series of reconstructions, instead of working on them one at a time. ![]() ![]() Memento is reaching to the cloud for converting photos to 3D mesh as users have been desiring keep their machines free for other tasks or to turn them off while the heavy computation is happening on the cloud.
